Sitting within the heart of Torquay, our award-winning guest house is just the place for a relaxing break, a romantic weekend, a business stay or a family holiday.
The Cimon is a gorgeous Victorian Villa set in its own secluded grounds, with a rich history dating back to the 1860s. To this day it retains many of its original and charming period features which adds to all its charm.
Indoors, guests can enjoy the use of the foyer seating area and the ground floor lounge including a resident’s bar. The conservatory dining area looks out onto a beautiful view of our tropical plants and the 30ft heated swimming pool.
We offer a wide range of fresh, contemporary rooms with modern ensuite bathrooms, flat screen TVs and a complimentary refreshment tray. All our rooms, except the Compact Double, have quiet fridges. Our Superior Seaview rooms, along with our Balcony Room, Family Suite and Family Room offer panoramic south facing views across Torbay to Paignton and Brixham. All our rooms offer wonderful natural light with large windows.
The Cimon can cater for most dietary requirements and special requests. We have a great reputation for customer service and guests regularly comment on the amazing breakfast!
Our prime location means we are just a 5 minute walk down the hill to the beach or to the town centre. The Princess Theatre, marina with bars & restaurants, Torre Abbey and the Riviera Conference Centre are only a few minutes further. We are also within the Agatha Christie mile. Unusually for Torquay, The Cimon offers a large, flat on-site car park which is free to our guests. We also offer fast fibre optic wi-fi throughout the hotel and the swimming pool area.

We have been staying at The Cimon on and off since 2014 and this last visit was with the new owners Julia and Jamie. The changes they have made are lovely and they make you feel very welcome. We stayed in our usual sea view and the addition of the two comfortable chairs in the bay window where lovely as we sat there every morning having a cup of tea before going down to our breakfast which hit the spot every morning. Thank you both for a wonderful stay and see you again soon x
Just returned from a wonderful 5 day break in Torquay staying at The Cimon.
Our first visit to the area and could not have wished for a better time. James and Julia were excellent hosts, choose the lovely balcony room, enjoyed plentiful breakfast to set us up for the day and given perfect help and information for eating and going out for the day.
Additional advantage was the large car park and very close to the Town centre and Harbour.
Definitely an extremely great choice and would thoroughly recommend.
Excellent guesthouse that’s friendly atmosphere and “little bit extra” makes it stand out.Lovely, friendly guesthouse/ boutique hotel. Our room was a generous size, very comfortable and spotless. Small touches throughout our stay took The Cimon from good to excellent. Breakfast was a “help yourself” to pastries, cereal and fruit as well as a choices of cooked breakfast, all a high standard and included in the price of our stay, we even got a chocolate on Easter Sunday, an example of the “small touches”. Having a car park and licensed bar was a real plus. Highly recommend
Julie and Jamle are engaging, thoughtful and respectful. My room, number 12 with a great sea view, was large, immaculate and comfy. The shower room was wee but well equipped with good towels and green products. Art throughout is locally procured.
Jamie’s breakfasts are delicious and his omelettes outstanding!
I highly recommend staying at the Cimon as it has everything (except an elevator) that the discriminating travel could want. If I were to return to Torquay I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
I stayed at the Cimon with my two teenage sons in a hugely spacious family room with a sea view. The beds (including the fold out beds)were really comfortable and everything was spotless. Breakfast was great and the hotel itself is really well located for both the shops and the stunning harbour. Julia and Jamie were excellent hosts and it felt very homely. The downstairs seating area and bar were such a bonus and we can’t wait to come back in the summer and use the pool!
I was there with my family we certainly had such a great stay. We loved the guest house, both rooms and common spaces. The girls enjoyed their independence in their room and the breakfast! We were given recommendations on what to do and where to go. I highly recommend it!
Came for a weekend away with my boyfriend and had such a lovely time. Julia and Jamie were amazing hosts - so welcoming and friendly which made it a very relaxing weekend. Room was very clean and suited us perfectly. Great selection of breakfast food which was all delicious.
Stayed with my hubby and 2 small children and found the family room overlooking the pool excellent. There was this little "snug" bit just before the bathroom which was perfect for a little private reading whilst putting the little ones to bed.
Excellent hosts - really kind and welcoming. We bothered them a lot with questions about the area and things to do with the children and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was great - lovely sausages! I am quite particular about poached eggs but they did not make me feel I was difficult which is the mark of a great B&B/hotel owner.
Will stay here again for the comfy bed, great brekkie, fab pool and amazing hosts! Thank you.
We stayed at the cimon from Saturday the 10th until Tuesday 13th oct , we had room 11 which was a sea view, room was nice and big and bed was really comfy. New owners were very friendly and sociable. Will b going back in the better weather to try the pool out ..oh and another bonus they sold thatchers gold
We arrived on the Friday by car and were greeted and shown to our lovely room. Four poster bed, plenty of space, ensuite and ideal temperature. Breakfast was plentiful and staff were very pleasant and helpful. When we checked out, we were able to leave the car there for a few hours while we walked into town. Ideal location, would recommend and would definitely go back.
10/10 for the hotel and the hosts
10/10 for a goods night sleep and clean room
10/10 for a good breakfast
Hotel within walking distance of the beach and the town centre
Next time I go to Torquay I will definitely stop again
Stayed here for my boyfriend’s birthday, and the staff were amazing, the room well for the price we paid the room was top notch. will be coming back again, we stayed for two nights and the breakfast as well was top class.
This was the most accommodating and friendly hotel I have stayed at in the UK. I was sceptical of not having an abroad holiday for my child's first holiday and I would definitely come back to the Cimon any chance I get.
I stayed here with my girlfriend in October and could not complain. The staff were welcoming and the rooms were lovely. The breakfast in the morning was quick service and great food. The hotel is in a great location and a walks distance from the Centre. I would recommend to anyone.
Arrived Friday afternoon, found the Hotel, to a very warm welcome from two of its staff, our room was immaculate, beds very comfortable. We were blessed with the great weather so the pool was used by many of it's guests, again we could not fault it, the breakfasts were freshly cooked to order, lovely. If you are traveling to Torquay we would highly recommend this hotel. Definitely stay there again on our next trip to the English Riviera.
We have just returned from our 3rd visit at The Cimon and the place gets better every time. Our last visit was Sept last year and the changes the new owners have made are great, we stayed in a sea view room and what a lovely room it was. The bar area is a nice place to chill out and the breakfasts are lovely. When we visit Torquay we will not stay anywhere else but The Cimon.
Fabulous hotel with a great family room, the hosts were very friendly and could not do enough for you, breakfast was excellent and we will definitely stay here again, loved it, we had room number 2 that a large double bed and a set of bunk beds which was ideal for the three of us, the room was very clean and the shower was great!
Our room was beautiful for starters and only a few minutes from the town centre. Lovely people and very inviting! Family run hotel with a lovely swimming pool! Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! Warm and welcoming! Home away from home.
It really did feel like home at the Cimon hotel. Rooms were immaculate have all been renovated. The breakfast was really nice. Nothing was too much trouble. Was given lots of advice on the best places to visit. Will definitely go there again.
We Stayed here for 2 nights with a 9 month old. Very accommodating, great breakfast and lovely room with a cot provided. Great spot just a 5 min walk away from the centre. Would definitely stay again.
Great Hotel in a good location, close to everything. The rooms are excellent and the beds really comfortable. The owners go out of their way to help and I would definitely recommend this Hotel to friends and family.

Spent a lovely weekend at the Cimon with friends. Very comfortable room, great hosts and a hearty breakfast. The guest house is in walking distance of the sea front and some good restaurants. I will definitely be returning next time I'm in Devon.
We had a fantastic weekend with hosts Jamie and Julia. We felt right at home, but the breakfast was far superior to our usual bowl of cornflakes thanks to chef Gabe. Lovely room, comfortable bed, great shower, everything clean and sparkling 🌝 Location is great, easy walk to the sea front and if you are feeling energetic great walks along the coast line.
We spent a very enjoyable weekend at The Cimon. This was our second visit in the last 6 months. Julia is a very friendly and charming host who always has, time for everyone. Nothing is too much trouble for her! The rooms are immaculate and very tasteful decorated. There is always a wide variety of food to choose from for breakfast. They cater for all dietary needs. We thoroughly recommend The Cimon and we hope to visit again this year.
